How Legal Assist works

• Members contact the Legal Assist helpline by phone or email during operating hours.
• An experienced in-house legal advisor assesses the member's query and provides guidance based on the information supplied by the member.
• Where the matter requires further advice, legal representation, in-person support or litigation assistance, the member may be referred to a panel attorney.
• The member's engagement with the attorney beyond the included initial consultation is arranged directly between the member and the attorney.
• Any fees, costs, court expenses, litigation expenses or further legal charges beyond the initial included service are for the member's own account.

Document assistance

Legal Assist may assist members with drafting, reviewing or interpreting selected legal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, employment contracts, basic wills, maintenance documentation, divorce-related documentation, letters of demand, basic legal correspondence, contractual documents and other documents suitable for advisory review.

The service provides guidance and drafting assistance only and does not replace formal legal representation where representation is required.
